Brief
Timeless Design For A Traditional Property

The client requested an upgrade to the existing garden, not least because of privacy issues related to a public footpath that passes in close proximity to the plot. The ground slopes away from the property which was negatively affecting the approach to the front door. The client wished for easier access as well as seating spaces and appropriate planting.

Although this is not a listed property, it was important that materials used were in keeping with the age, style and surroundings of the house itself.

Challenge
Tight Access For Deliveries And Storage

Although this is a generously sized front garden (approx 250 square metres) the access down a narrow lane was quite tight. A large number of materials were involved in this build which made deliveries and on-site storage a little tricky at times. But all in all, the landscapers and other tradespeople did a great job of building the garden and preparing it for planting by Lush Garden Design.

Solution
A Beautiful Garden That Exactly Meets The Clients Expectations

The client was very invested in getting the project finished to a high standard so that it matched the 3D garden design presented at the beginning of the process. Thanks to the very carefully considered plan from Lush Garden Design and the tireless attention to detail from Chris Belton and his team, that's precisely what happened.

The result is a tasteful yet imaginative garden which complements the farmhouse perfectly. Paddlestone retaining walls overcome any issues with the sloping plot and blend seamlessly with the into the surrounding Derbyshire countryside. Clever use of clay pavers echo the ancient brickwork and the use of natural stone pays homage to the local environment.

We especially like the water feature designed by Caltef Designs from Leicestershire. A galvanised drinking trough and water blade gives a nod to the property's livestock farming heritage and brings another layer of interest to the garden.

Top marks to everybody involved in this incredible garden transformation.
