Brief
Elegant Garden Embedded In Nature

The clients were keen to include natural stone walling in the garden of their 1990's 4 bed property. They also requested a water feature, cottage garden planting, a large terrace and an area of decking. Garden designer George William Flynn was commissioned to fit all of those features into the 10m by 35m space, and we think he accomplished it well.

Challenge
Working In Typical Winter Weather

Winter weather in Worcestershire can be quite unpleasant and the team at West Midlands Landscaping did a sterling job of working though cold weather, relentless rain and even flooding. You'd never know it by looking at the garden now! That's the mark of a true craftsman.

Solution
Harnessing The Beauty Of Nature

With natural stone, a lush lawn, generous planting and a gorgeous backdrop of mature trees, this garden epitomises the best of British gardening.

The water feature has central stage and rightly so. Such a clever use of paddlestones and that water blade brings movement and sound to the whole space. We love the way that the water trough has been raised up to create an informal seat where dabbling fingers in the cool liquid is both natural and effortless.

Using limestone paving, millboard decking and clay pavers gives a pleasing variety of textures without being overwhelming. And the colourful planting truly helps to embed the garden into the wider landscape. A triumph all round. Congratulations to everyone involved and especially to the clients who have a beautiful garden to enjoy every single day.
